🎯 Exploring Standards-Aligned Keyboarding Practice: Common Core, TEKS, and BEST

One of the features that sets Typesy apart from other keyboarding programs is its integration of standards-aligned, cross-curricular content. Rather than stopping at basic typing drills, Typesy provides a more comprehensive learning experience by aligning its lessons with widely recognized educational standards—including Common Core, TEKS, and BEST.

🧭 Why Multiple Standards Matter

While the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) have been adopted by 41 states, many regions have created their own customized versions to better serve their local student populations. For example, Texas uses the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS), while Florida follows the Benchmarks for Excellent Student Thinking (BEST). At Typesy, we’ve responded directly to educator feedback by developing curriculum tracks aligned specifically to these standards.

🔤 Cross-Curricular Typing Practice

Once students complete the “Learn the Keyboard” curriculum, they can transition seamlessly into our cross-curricular content. This feature allows students to continue improving their typing skills while engaging with academic subjects like math, language arts, social studies, and science—all tailored to their state’s academic standards.

🧒📚 Designed for Grades 2–9

Each curriculum track—Common Core, TEKS, and BEST—is designed for grades 2 through 9, making Typesy a valuable tool for elementary, middle, and early high school students. With daily use (just 30 minutes per day), each track provides an additional 3–4 months of keyboarding practice paired with meaningful academic review.

đź’Ľ A Complete Learning Package

By blending keyboarding with subject-area content aligned to state and national standards, Typesy offers more than just typing—it’s a comprehensive learning platform. Whether you're in Texas, Florida, or any of the 41 states following Common Core, there's a dedicated pathway that supports both skill development and academic achievement.
